Russ Barnes Cup - Russ Barnes Cup

The Russ Barnes Trophy represents the Provincial Junior "B" championship of Alberta. Until 2017 the winner earned the right to compete for the Keystone Cup. Eight teams compete in the Alberta Junior B Provincials. The two largest leagues (Capital Junior Hockey League, Heritage Junior B Hockey League) send two teams each, while the Calgary Junior Hockey League, the North Eastern Alberta Junior B Hockey League and the Northwest Junior Hockey send one team each. In addition the host team is guaranteed a berth.
